Dendrobium monophyllum

(Lily-of-the-Valley Orchid)

An epiphyte or lithophyte, this orchid grows in congested clumps of short ~60mm canes, often in quite exposed situations. In spring and summer it produces a small racemes bearing up to twenty drooping, yellow flowers about 8mm across.
