Pterostylis baptistii
(King Greenhood)
Like other greenhoods, this orchid grows in colonies, is deciduous and occurs in local forests in well-drained, moist sites. When fertile, it produces a slender, green flower stem up to 25cm tall emerging from a rosette of small, dark green leaves. The flower is very large, about 60mm in height, and flowers in Apri, often in large mixed colonies of Acianthus fornicatus and Chiloglottis sylvestris.
