Sarcochilus falcatus

(Orange Blossom Orchid)

The Sarcochilus genus includes some exquisite orchid species and the orange blossom orchid is one of them. Mature plants can be quite large, hanging off large trees in wet sclerophyll and rainforest, and throwing out numerous racemes bearing white flowers, each about 30mm across.

Though liking plenty of moisture and shade, the plants are surprisingly hardy. They can be locally common on Blackwoods.
